About Us
In 1953, Betty Conod and her two children Jim and Donna left Tillsonburg on a train bound for Windsor, Ontario to visit her sister-in-law for a few days. On her return, her husband, Red, picked her and her two children up at the train station along with a new memeber of the family: a Great Dane named Delta of Talhurst. This was the beginning of a love that lasted a lifetime.
We had our first champion in 1954. We have bred and shown top winning Great Danes aquiring many championships in Canada as well as American Champions. We have also owned the number one Dane in the country, #5 working dog, Canadian National winners and many specialty winners. 25 years ago while showing danes, friends of mine, Anne and Don Brown of Sybarite Kennels said if I was out showing I might as well show other breeds. Thats when I began with the German Shepherd. I have handled this breed at both US and Can. Nationals, futuritys, maturitys, and specialties earning championships. I have bred and raised many champions in this breed and I have owned the winners bitch at the Canadian National.
Attending the US and Can. Nationals has been a yearly event which has given me the opportunity to see and show some of the top German Shepherds in North America. We have raised and shown other breeds, shih tzu, pharoh hound, poodles, and others. I am a member of the Great Dane Club of Canada, Great Dane Club of America, German Shepherd Club of Canada, German Shepherd Club of America as well as a member of 2 all breed clubs and Canadian Dog Judges Association. Judging has always been my ultimate goal. I have judged in Australia, Mexico, Finland and all across Canada.
